•   There are about 5,000 independent animal shelters nationwide here in the USA.
•    About 5-7 MILLION pets enter an animal shelter each year here in the USA.
•   About 3-4 MILLION pets are euthanized each year. 
•   60% of the dogs brought to a shelter are killed each year here in our country!
•   25% of dogs that enter shelters are purebreds.
•    In the USA, about 62% of all households have a pet.
•   There are currently about 78.2 million dogs owned in the USA.
